Jim Poslof founded Poz Productions in 1994 to build the type of film industry website that he had been unable to find as an actor in the film industry. The site was placed on the internet in 1996. Poz Productions began by placing headshots of actors on a page with a simple biography of the actor attached. Today, actors, talent agencies, casting directors, stunt performers, and other film related services are posting information on the site for customers to have access to.

Initially, Poz Productions targeted to only one genre of the film industry. Today, it has expanded its scope to offer opportunities to all types of individuals looking for work in the entertainment field.
